Larry Gale
Gale Global Inc. was established in 2014. The purpose was to lead global sales in the Canadian Rockies.
Larry’s experience in tourism started in 1984 as a product manager for Europe focused travel company. In 1987 he was Customer Service Manager, JTB during the “boom” years of Japanese travel to Canada and in 1990 he moved over to CP Hotels and Resorts as Sales Manager. He increased leisure travel from a zero base to over 10,000 room nights per year.
During his 19 + years at Brewster Travel Canada as General Manager Marketing and Sales and as Senior Director Business Development Viad Corp, Larry created and opened global sales & marketing offices in the UK, USA, Eastern Canada, Mexico, Australia, India, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China. This team consisted of over 60 people. Additional achievements include leading the creation of the Explore Rockies brand and Explore Rockies stores. Larry also lead the sales, marketing and branding for Brewster’s Glacier Skywalk attraction in Jasper.
As an original member of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) marketing committee (a position he held for 13 years) he was presented with various special assignments for Canada in Japan, India and in China. Larry was fortunate to be the only Canadian Tourism representative at the first meetings for Approved Destination Status (ADS) from China with the Honourable Judd Buchannan. These meetings helped guide the successful Canadian ADS from China in 2010. Larry was also chosen (twice) to represent Canadian tourism and be part of the Prime Ministers TEAM Canada Missions in Asia. Larry was one of 4 tourism executives chosen by the CTC to formulate a Team Canada strategy in Japan. This was one of the most important Canadian missions as it changed how each province works together in global markets. For more than thirty years, Larry helped elevate the global tourism profile not only to the Canadian Rockies but to all of Canada.
Larry has vast experience "in the field" and in all aspects of tourism related sales and marketing, the relationships he has established over the past 30 years along with his global tourism knowledge he is very powerful in making cash registers ring! With over 2 million air miles flown and over 200 trips to Asia and around the world - Larry has been there, done that and built that- successfully
